Kolokoy team defeated Pro Hop in the finals to retain the title in the FEDBG Tuesday Night Bowling League at the Bowling City here.

Zaldy Bacero, Alex Flora, Jimmy Mandingiado and team captain Ernie Geslani comprised the champion Kolokoy team.

Edu Toledo, Emil Payongayong, Rolly Vistal and Melvin Lising bannered Pro Hop in this 4-man team tournament .

Prior to this championship, the Ed Viray captained and managed Star Eagles defeated the undermanned Majdi team on final tallies of 793-748. Roger Daquioag top-scored for Star Eagles on 236, followed by Jay Bengco 211, Archie Santos 186 and Viray 150. Aided with 135 blind score, Ahmed Sindi, Al Amri, Bandar AL Dosari respectively fought with 165, 222 and 226.

Moving up against Pro Hap Hap, Star Eagles fielded same lineup against Payongayong, Toledo, Vistal and Lising. With an advantage of two pins in handicap at 60-58, Pro Hap Hap fought a tight match exchanging marks frame by frame with its rival

Payongayong had 212 against Daquioag’s 196. With a crucial conversion of 4-7-9 split, Toledo had 191 against Bengco who top-scored for Star Eagles on 230.

Splitting his last frame and pinning nothing on 4-6-7 try, Viray outscored Vistal at 209-197 posting the 3-player scores at 590-631 in favor of Star Eagles. But with Lising beating Santos, the match was placed in must-mark situation but both teams succumbed to pressure splitting their frame. Lising got three pins in his 2-4-7-10 split forcing Santos in a must convert position. But with a difficult split Santos took two pins for breathtaking final tallies of 831-830 including Lising’s 241 and Santos’ 196. Star Eagles landed second runner-up and Pro Hap moved to championship against twice-to-beat Kolokoy.

Toledo was pittted against Bacero and the latter easily won 224 -165. Payongayong made the match interesting by beating Alex Flora at 211-204 but Vistal and Lising were not able to stop Mandingiado and Geslani who left them at 207-220 and 192-209 to complete Kolokoy’s title defense and back-back championships at 857-775.
