The conclusion of the Carrefour Le Mall two-day event was unfortunately disrupted by a combination of weather and an unforeseen clash of venues.

The first 2 stages were able to be completed, however, so the organizing committee decided to award the prizes based on those results. Last year’s champion, Thierry Mathy once again won in impressive style, winning first against the clock and shortly after that taking the sprint on a tough hilly circuit used for the first time.

Consistent Martin Ball held off a strong challenge from Alex Carinan in the road race and Kris Ahlin just edged out Vincent Engel due to a better TT time. While the senior event brought with it a clear winner, the Cat B result could have gone to either Veronique Mathy, Katy Taylor or Maria Araujo, with each of them sharing the honors.

Juniors Cameron Ball and Pascal Kuba both won one event each, leaving them pondering what could have been. Carrefour Le Mall once again provided their generous and appreciated sponsorship which was most enjoyable. RW Chairman took the opportunity to announce that SR10,000 was being sent to the Philippine typhoon relief effort on behalf of the members of the Riyadh Wheelers, the Riyadh Triathletes and Riyadh Road Runners.
