JEDDAH: Mazco scored a stunning 21-run win over Desert Warriors during third week of the Premier Division cricket league, sponsored by MoneyGram and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association, here.

In another exciting match, Hyderabad Green edged past favorites Pakistan Green while in the last match ARM continued their unbeaten run with an easy seven-wicket win over Tamer.

Mazco put up 240 for 5, thanks to Faisal Khan’s 85 and Nasir who scored an unbeaten 89. Both thrashed the weak bowling of the Desert Warriors. Waseem was the lone bowler to get some respect as he took 2 for 37.

In reply, Desert Warrior gave a spirited fight back through Waseem (63), Junaid (53), Jafar (32) and Abdul Quddus (25). However, the asking rate increased toward the end and they finished at 219 for 8.Nasir took 2 for 36.

In the other match, Tamer batsmen had no clue to the accurate bowling of ARM and managed to score 133 for 7 in their allotted overs. Rayees (30), Aqeel (22) and Arshad (23) showed some fight. Shahid bagged 2 for 25 while Saadique Merchant got 2 for 29. Nazeer Ahmed pegged the lower order with impressive figures of 2 for 6.

In reply ARM chased comfortably and finished with 134 for 3. Athar (32), Pervez Khan (56 not out) and Saadique Merchant (14 not out). Anwar bagged 2 for 40.

Elsewhere, Hyderabad Green were bowled out for 223 runs. They got off to a flying start against Pakistan Green with Javed’s quick-fire 63 and Amer Gujjar’s 61. Amer Wahla played a cameo of an innings as his 36 runs came off 12 balls. Adnan wrecked the rivals batting and took 5 for 39 while Rizwan got 2 for 38.

In reply Pakistan Green’s solid batting line up were up to the task with Sajid batting aggressively with a polished 64. He received good support from Shaan (34), Shahzad (33). Later, Adnan kept them in the hunt with an unbeaten 34 but Zaheer (2 for 42), Maqsood (2 for 39) and Amer Wahla (2 for 7) tightened the noose around them and got them out for 217 to give Hyderabad Green six-run win.

MORNING LEAGUE

Brief scores: In the 3rd week of the Afternoon League, ICAD got the better of Old Students by 3 wickets, Ktaykit eased past Peeran Warriors by 54 runs while Jamco scored a comfortable 42-run win over Munch Bakery.
