JEDDAH: My Care Hala ousts Dopco Stars in a thrilling Premier League final, Al Safri emerged Afternoon League champion and My Care Hala Green grabbed the Morning League crown in the MoneyGram Twenty20 cricket tournament, held under the aegis of the Saudi Cricket Center and organized by the Western Province Cricket Association here.

In the second phase of the tourney, the winner of the match between My Care Hala Green and Al Safri, will take on Premier League champion My Care Hala. The ultimate winner will represent WPCA in the Champions League to be held at Yanbua.

In the Premier League final, Dopco Stars opted to bat and put on board a respectable total of 173 for 8. Thanks to Shahbaz’s 61 off 38 balls while Nadeem played an attacking innings of 36. The two gave their team a flying start as they were involved in a 74-run partnership. However, the middle order collapsed and struggled at 122 for 6. Afaq remained unbeaten on 25. Tariq Mahmood grabbed 4 for 25, Adnan 2 for 48. Faheem and Hussain Bhatti chipped in with one wicket each.

In reply, My Care Hala lost Qamar Abbas (19) early. However, Moazzam Shoukat (60) and Kashif Shafeeq (52) stuck to their task and added 100 runs for the second wicket, which came off in 44 balls, to reach the winning target of 176 for 4 with an over to spare to win by six wickets.

Ajmal Khan bagged 2 for 27. Waheed and Sohaib shared two wickets.

In the Afternoon League final, Saeed Ahmed hammered a brilliant 48-ball 70 runs to steer Al Safri to a 18-run win over Zultrack. Put into bat by their rivals Al Safri totaled 180 for 6. Other scorers were Muneeb (33), Rehan (19) and Aamir Zahoor (24). Tauseef claimed 2 for 45. Usman and Suhail shared 2 wickets.

Zultrack started disastrously and were at one stage 14 for 3. However, Bilal Malik (45) and Qayam Khan (47) staged a rescue act, which was not good enough as they were stranded at 162 for 9. Tauseef made 29. Waseeq Sherwani ripped through the rival batting lineup and had match winning figures of 4 for 40. Muneeb gave his support and bagged 2 for 26 and Zafar got one.

In the Morning League final, as expected My Care Hala Green continued their good show and put up 194 for 8. Salman top-scored with 42. Irfan (39), Zameer (30), Noor Butt (20 not out) and Sadiq (19) were the other contributors. Tanveer Zamane claimed 2 for 39, while Bilal and Aftab chipped in with a wicket each.

ALJ Toyota were never in the hunt and were all out for 153. They lost by 41 runs.

Tanveer Zamane staged a lone battle and scored 50 off 38 balls. Naveed (21) and Aftab (20) were the others who chipped in. Nabeel took 3 for 17, Rabbani 2 for 28. Omar, Salman and Azhar had a wicket each.
