Riyadh Cricket Association scored comfortable wins over Madinah Cricket League during their tour to Madinah in the Intercity matches, sponsored by Banque Saudi Al Fransi and Crown Steel, recently.

In the first T20 match, RCL got the better of MCL by 59 runs while in the other 35-over encounter, they routed the hosts by 100 runs.

In the T20, RCA were bowled out for 254 after they won the toss and made first use of the track.

Ibrar Ul Haq was the hero of the day as he plundered 96 runs off 33 balls. He was ably supported by Omar Zafar (32), Ayaz Mohammed (32) Abdul Wahab (27) and Sajid Khan (26).

Omar, Afzal and Khurram bagged 2 wickets each. In reply, MCL buckled under pressure and managed 195 for 6 from their stipulated overs.

Nadeem top-scored with 47 followed by Younous 35, Ataullah 27 and Omar 25. Arsalan Rana was the pick of the bowlers as he took 3 for 39 for the bowling side while Sajid Khan got 2.

Man-of-the-Match: Ibrar Ul Haq.

The other match was a one-sided affair. RCA’s Nasir Abbasi dazzled with the bat and scored a fine 136 in a total of 298 for 9.

Nadeem Babar supported his with a well-made 86. Both were involved in a 194-run partnership after the fall of the first wicket of Ibrar Ul Haq for 34.

Afzaal Abbasi took 4 wickets, Ajmal got 3 and Afzal 2. MCL XI started well with openers Ejaz (68) and Omar (23). But after the loss of the openers, the rest of the batting lineup could not play up to the expectations.

Kashif made 32. Nadeem Babar also performed well with the ball and took 3 wickets. Muzaffar and Abdul Salam also picked up 2 wickets each.

RCA has so far won 12 out of the 14 intercity matches played against WPCA, YACA, JCA, EPCA, Al-Qassim and MCL.
