JEDDAH: A brace by Nishad Kolakadan helped ABC Cargo Real Kerala to get past ACC B 2-0 in the eighth week of the senior division football league championship organized by the Saudi Indian Football Forum (SIFF), here.

It was ACC B, which impressed with their fast and attacking brand of football. However the young strikers failed to convert their advantage into goals as they missed a couple of good opportunities.

On the other hand their rivals made the most of the opportunity they got as they struck during the run of play when Kolakadan gave his team the lead after he converted a pass by Jackson just before the break.

The Kerala outfit put up a better display after the change of ends and Kolakadan made the issue safe in the 55th minute.

In a Division ‘B’ encounter, Blue Star ‘B’ got the better of Al-Abeer, Sharafiya 2-1. Shaheer Bawa gave Blue Star the lead in the 13th minute. Ali doubled it 10 minutes later. Hakeem reduced the margin just after the break. Al-Abeer strove hard for the equalizer but were unable to break the rival defense. Dr. Naresh Rao of Al Abeer was adjudged man-of-the-match.

In another encounter of the same group Jeddah Sports Club (JSC) beat Badar Al Thamam United Sporting Club by a similar margin.

Man-of-the-Match Naufal Chokli scored in the 5th and 22nd minutes in the second half for JSC while Noushad reduced the margin for United.

In the first match of the day, Al-Wurood and Mahad Al-Uloom ended 1-1 in the Inter-School tournament for the Al-Abeer Trophy.

Asil scored for Mahad Al-Uloom in the 12th minute through a spot kick while Nishad equalized for Wurood also through a penalty.

Ryan Rizqi of Al Wurood adjudged man-of-the-match.
