A record number of 39 teams and close to 400 players participated in the 8th King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC) Bowling Friendship Games Friday last week to underscore the growing popularity of the twice-a-year fun-filled event that brings together various groups in the Filipino community.

When the dust settled at the Ice Land Bowling Center, Renal Strykerz 2 emerged winner in the In-House category with Zuhair Fayez Partnership coming back big time from a last-place finish in this year’s first Friendship Games to win the Guest category that attracted 22 teams including one from the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah.

Chief guest in the day-long affair was Consul General Uriel Norman Garibay who made the ceremonial roll of the ball and along with his wife, Dr. Omega, played for the Consulate team.

Before the start of the games special awards were handed out as follows: Best Mascot Scalpelove (In-House), OFWCC (Guest); Best Organized Team Project Task Force (In-House) , KFSHRC 1, 2, 3 (Guest); Best in Uniform King Faisal Cardiac Center (In-House), KFSHRC 1, 2, 3 and Best Team Representative Diane Espinosa (Tsinoyz), Rio Angeline Arguilles (Prime Movers).

This 10-man team competition where prizes were scaled down to the 10th place in both categories was organized by a committee under the KAMC Employee Social Club led by Director Mohammad Al Aamry and Ahmad Luangco, activity in charge-supervisor ESC Recreation Services, with Al Bacleon as event organizer.
