Defending champion Shabab SABB of Ahmed Qaquoush won its third Team of the Week award honor and improved from fourth to second in the team standings during the 8th week of the Interbank Tenpin Bowling League 2013 Conference at the InterContinental Hotel Bowling Center.

SABB defeated Alinma Bank 344-190 to match its victim’s Team of the Week victories at three. The trio of Qarquoush, Jaffer Al Kathiri and Arnold Jesena inspired their teammates with respective rounds of 804, 783 and 744. Francis Guron and Luis Bonguit contributed 573 and 504 while Fahad Al Heza and Sam Alinsod rolled 161 and 140.

Alinma prevented a shutout by winning the fourth game as the trio of Jojo de Silva, Obet Mata and Lito Tolentino carded 793, 767 and 747. Jerry Barce assisted them with 462 while Angelo Train and Willie Bondoc rolled 398 and 320 with Vic Aggregado on 165.

SAMA-Abana Unified continued to enjoy solid performances these past weeks, blanking former champion SHB 331-30 to keep the top spot for two consecutive weeks. Team captain Teody Zulaybar powered his team to victory with a high series of 856 that gave him the Bowler of the Week accolade. Jun Bolocboloc and Jun Macarandan supported Zulaybar with 718 and 710. Bernie Torres, Clem Guelas rolled 518, 515 and Ranier Torres had 404 the tournament organized by Interbank Tenpin Bowlers of Riyadh (ITBR).

The loss dropped SHB to fifth from second place in te team standings. Team captain Greg Antonio failed to find the right mix as they struggled in all four games. Arnel Bernabe and Gerry Ayonon top-score for SHB with 770 and 673.

PNB Unified scored high this week in a 290-130 win over BSF-CBG and retained fourth place. Tenz Taeza and James Frizzle led the way with 780 and 726. Freddie Solomon, Mixi Lechiga and Roland Garcia added 583, 558 and 509.

The fourth match between tailenders BSF and SAIB ended in a draw with 130 points each. Edwin Timango paced BSF with 774. He was assisted by Joseph Adao, Noel Morales and captain Jun Bantug who tallied 739, 711 and 676. Dawood Sereno and Ric Camara had 368 and 283.


Mike Benito was the top scorer in SAIB with 749 four-game series. Team captain Dong Calub, Ed Robillos and Julius Queypo had 706, 656 and 596 to go with the 500 by Eddison Austria and 132 by Ric Cura.
