Thales and Bandar Al-Marshad shared center stage as the Best Team of the Week and Best Bowler of the Week awardees during the 19th session in the Almarai-FBGR Sunday Bowling League 13th Conference at Universal Bowling Center here.

Almarai Company sponsored the tournament under the aegis of Filipino Bowling Group of Riyadh (FBGR).

In a big night for Thales mentored by Ryan Iñigo it upset RG512 for Clothes of Yasser Mohamed 23-16, with back-to-back Bowler of the Week Ramon Chua at the forefront on 933 points followed by Nelson De Vera 874, Ismael Viloria 856, Iñigo 814 and Boy Mirando 704. Scorers for the losing team were Shakur Kamlian 867, Rasheed Rasheidan 784, Yasser Mohamed 573, Resty De Jesus 560, Ahmed Qarquosh 450, Rocky Manipon 408 and Marwan Temana 386 points.

Team captain Bandar led by example, dishing a Best Bowler of the Week award-winning performance in leading Alsalam Knights to a 4-0 shutout of Proshop Strikers of Ric Urrutia Jr. on 21-4 points. Bandar shot the high series of 877 on lines of 215, 155, 198 and 203 with 29 handicap per game. Backing up Bandar were Rollie Cleofe 798, Alfred Valencia 778, Mario Rivera 750 and Lito Vega 705 points. Butch Mateo led Proshop by scoring 870 with Jojie Manalansan on 813 and Urrutia 808.

In an exciting match, Almarai Co. of Jun Daniel edged defending champion and league No.1 Carry Over of Lulu Quejada 2-1 (19-16 points). Alex Armada 862, Joel Batolina 832, Fhel Ramos 770, Doy Del Moral 766 and Jun Daniel 751 points bannered Almarai.

At Carry Over leading scorers were Nap Torres and Dennis Gabriel with identical of 790 points followed by Celis Viloria 781, Abdullah Amoudi 767 while Rodel Maranca 396 and Quejada 379.

Team Irene mentored by Dhong Yamco buried United Global of Jeff Nierva 22-10. The winning team got contributions from Irene Pua 853, Stephen Solomon 851, Donjie Mapalad 779, Dee Urbano 452 and KC Enriquez 388. Jeffrey Sobrebiga 839, Jeff Nierva 756, Arnel Balaoro 677, Sam Dotingco 664, Mario Cantina 422 and Erwin Atienza 394 were the scorers at United.

In other matches, Nadec Strokers of Lope Ramirez downed Alinma Bank of Abdulrahman Ahmed 21-16, IBG Storm of Ric Singson upset current No. 2 Look Up Boys captained by Ronald Bautista 22-13, while Sweet Angel Vipers edged FBGR Selection of Mike Ecalnir 17-15 in a 2-2 match.
