Uptown of Halim Mezher beat ALJ Used Cars 69-63 in the JBL Basketball Tournament ast Bin Mafouz court on Thalia Street, Al Andalus District here.

Uptown went to the open man in the final quarter as ALJ Used Cars tried hard to contain the enemy offense. Rafael Saldua scored 20 points for Uptown and was adjudged as the Giordano best players of the game while Kelvin Ray Llamado top-scored with 17 points for ALJ Used Cars.

Awdah of Rey Magat defeated NCB Quick Pay 61-47. It was a close ball game up to the 3rd quarter. Awdah played running game in the final quarter as NCB Quick Pay started to lose its steam. Sanchez chipped in with 16 points for Awdah and was adjudged as the JBL best player of the game while Elmer Genisa had 15 points for NCB Quick Pay.

ALJ Central Purchasing of Noel Sun crushed Marhaba 63-40. ALJ Central Purchasing’s running game was effective in the whole game as Marhaba defense collapsed in the fourth quarter. Rasheed Mohammed led the ALJ with 15 points and was adjudged as the Saudi Signs best player of the game while Cabalu scored 11 points for Marhaba.

SBG Sparks of Gerry Carreon beat Saudi Diyar Consultants in overtime 64-56. SBG Sparks converted their crucial free throws in the extra period while Saudi Diyar started to feel the pressure and missed important baskets. Dizon and Omboy scored 9 points apiece for SBG Sparks. Soriano was adjudged as the JBL best player of the game for his steady free throws while Gerald De Leon top-scored with 21 points for Saudi Diyar.

Taqwa Brothers Green beat Sabr Brothers Yellow 73-66 in the JDC Inter Color division. Taqwa Brothers Green managed to control their offense well in the final quarter. Sabr Brothes Yellow committed back-to-back errors in the dying seconds of the game. Loy top-scored with 28 points for Taqwa Brothers Green and was adjudged as the JBL best player of the game while Jameel Khobre scored 38 points for Sabr Brothers Yellow.

Islamic Development Bank of Omer Celis defeated Al Ittifaq 56-46 for it second straight win. Pineda had 16 points for IDB and was adjudged as the JBL best player of the game while Espayos contributed 14 points for Al Ittifaq.

Almabani of Jose Infante clobbered overmatched Barangay Fame 63-27. Loyola and Buan each scored 11 points for Almabani and both were adjudged as the Arab News best players of the game while Dela Cruz and Alivio had 6 points apiece for Barangay Fame.

Urban Design Group of Ariel Acedera beat AVK Wild Boys 57-47. Scores kept changing sides in the whole game. UDG applied man-to-man defense in the crucial last two minutes of the game as AVK Wild Boys missed consecutive attempts from beyond the arc. Mico Lico led UDG with 25 points and was adjudged as the TFC best player of the game while Jolli Tilo top-scored with 18 points for AVK Wild Boys.
