BCT Mongoose advances in FEDBG Friday League

Randy Mata, Caloy Nuguit, Eloisa Fernandez and team captain Emil Payongayong all crossed the 200 series mark while Nards Hassan and Ric Tibayan both hit their averages as Ball Care Team sounded a warning with its 1294 initial stint during the 8-team playoff on the 27th week in the FEDBG Friday Morning Bowling League 12th Conference at the Bowling City here.
Perfect-game holder and multititled Mata casually strung strikes for 220 while Nuguit and Fernandez got their own bags to support Mata on 237 and 248. Along with efforts from Hassan (192) and Tibayan (188) and Payongayong (219) Mongoose moved ahead of D’ Mountaineers, Royal Strikers, Fed Extreme, Fire Fox, Pin Rockers, Shawly Bowlers and X-Alley who contended initially with 1212, 1193, 1183, 1178, 1167, 1132 and 1121. As Mata and Fernandez sustained their charge and Payongayong improved to 231, BCT kept top spot at 2489 with D’ Mountaineers its nearest pursuer on 2426.
Making biggest headway was the X-Alley who leapedfrogged from bottom to third with 2418 on a 1297 chase from the superlative games of Archie Santos (294), Bobby Baraquel (218), Andy Yumena (209), Nurissa Ramos (215) and combined 361 from Danny Manriza and team captain/manager Ali Ibn.
Up by nine marks and hoping Mongoose collapses, D’ Mountaineers tried catching up till the 8th frame. But Mata rolled with precision to boost the morale of teammates especially Hassan who responded with strike out on the last frame.
Mata followed the Hassan led with another two strikes and finished with 224. With another 1195 handicapped set, BCT Ball Care Team beat its seven rivals with a solid 3684. The 1223 pursuit of D’ Mountaineers put them in second place on 3649. X-Alley managed to get closer at 3621, Rudy Valenzuela’s Pin Rockers ranked fourth with 3574 with Richard Antonio posting high game of 275. Fed Extreme, Fire Fox, Royal Strikers and Shawly Bowers occupied the last four places with 3550, 3482, 3434 and 3362. Mongoose will be up against Ekis-3 in the first stepladder final match today.
