Ebad, Muzammil shine in IDB cricket semis

Islamic Development Bank-Blue (IDB-Blue) will clash with Islamic Development Bank-Red (IDB-Red) in the final of the IDB cricket league-cum- knockout tournament organized by the Bank’s Social and Cultural Forum at the Green Lawn ground at the Bank’s premises recently.
IDB-Blue scored a comfortable 33-run win over IDB-Orange while in the other semis IDB-Red eased past IDB-Green by 35 runs.
Muzammil of Blue and Ebad of Red were the architects of their respective team’s win. Muzammil scored 33 runs and later took a wicket while Ebad notched up an unbeaten 50.
ODB-Blue made first use of the track and put up 94 runs from their allotted 12 overs. Thanks to Muzammil’s all-round performance and Ameen’s 17 runs.
Abdallah Shah got 3 wickets for the bowling side. He was ably supported by Masood who got 2.
Blue gave a spirited reply, which was not good enough and fell short of the target as they scored 61 runs. Hamza and Ameen shared bagged 3 wickets each for the winners
In the other semis, IDB-Red scored 111 runs. Ebad was in top form and scored an unblemished 50. Raziuddin with 16 gave him good support. Rizwan got 3 wickets, Muqhtar, Zeeshan and Riaz got a wicket each for the bowling side.
In reply, IDB-Green managed 76. Ridwan top-scored with 22. Khursheed and Riyaz scored 11 reach while Zeeshan scored 15 runs.
IDB-Red’s Ahmed got 3 wickets including a hat trick. Ataur Rahmanand Ebad gave him good support as the took 3 and 2 wickets, respectively.
The final will be played this week.
