Bowlers dominate YACA league

YANBUA: Green Stars, Indo Riders, Lube Ref XI and E S Titans won their respective matches in the Yanbu Al-Sinaiyah Cricket Association Twenty20 cricket league sponsored by Jotun Paints.
In the first match of the day, Green Stars edged past Samaref XI by 3 runs, Indo Riders thrashed Netpet by 47 runs, Lube Ref XI routed Pak XI by 7 wickets and ESC Titans a thrilling 4 wickets win over Pak Green. The winning run came from the last ball of the match.
Green Stars batted first and scored 124 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs. Hasan (30) and Riyaz (33) were the main scorers. Twenty-six runs came in the form of extras. Samaref XI chased bravely but fell short by 3 runs as they finished with 121 for 7. Bilal (30), Asim (22), Smith (20) and Ahmed (25) were the main contributors. Irfan grabbed 3 for 40.
In the other match, Indo Riders were all out for 120 runs. Sharjil Butt (38) and Afeef (26) did their best. Shahid destroyed was the main wicket takes with 4 for 18. He was well supported by Imran who bagged 3 for 21. Netpet failed to make a fight of it and were all out for 73. Yaser scored 11. None of the other batsmen could reach the double figure mark. Most of the run came from extras, which was 34. Jasim grabbed 3 for 15 and Sharjil Butt 2.
In the third match of the day, Pak XI put into bat by their rivals and scored 134 for 7. Hasnain (32), Abdulrazzaque (27) and Mohammed Khan 28 were the contributors. Shamsuddin impressed with his bowling and took 4 for 23. Lube Ref XI in reply reached 135 for 3. Kavi (22), Kumar (63) and Amit (24) steered their team to an easy win.
In the last match of the day, Pak Green batted first posted 150 for 4. Waseem Jutt scored a match winning innings of 80 runs. Usman claimed 2 wkts. E S Titans responded with 151 for 6 to score a last ball victory. Khizhar Hayat was the highes scorer with 56 runs. Qureshi (26), Saleem (18) and Tariq (18) were on the scorers list. Pak Green were generous in giving 31 extras.
