BOGOTA: A deep but powerful earthquake shook western Colombia and Ecuador yesterday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries. The US Geological Survey said the 9:16 a.m. (14:16 GMT) quake had a magnitude of 7.0.It was centered about 11 kilometers from the town of Pasto and 129 kilometers below the surface.
The quake was felt widely across Colombia and neighboring Ecuador, but local officials did not report damages or injuries.
