A-list celebrities supporting Beirut

Following the deadly explosion that tore through Beirut on Aug. 4, a number of A-list celebrities have shown support to the hundreds of thousands left homeless.

    Keanu Reeves

    The Canadian actor, who was born in Beirut, has pledged to support the victims during a live fundraiser stream on Instagram last week.

  2. The Weeknd
    The Weeknd

    The Canadian singer donated $300,000 to the Lebanese Red Cross, the Children’s Cancer Centre Lebanon and the World Food Programme.

  3. George and Amal Clooney
    George and Amal Clooney

    The American actor and his wife, Lebanese-British human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, donated $100,000 to various Lebanese charities. 

  4. Bella Hadid
    Bella Hadid

    Part-Palestinian model Bella Hadid, whose father lived in Beirut with his family before immigrating to the US, has donated an unknown amount and urged her large following on Instagram to support as well.

  5. Rihanna
    Rihanna

    The world-famous American-Barbadian singer and entrepreneur encouraged her 86.6 million followers to donate to charities like Preemptive Love, Impact Lebanon, Sadalsuud Foundation and Save the Children. 

  6. Dua Lipa

    The Albanian-British hitmaker urged her fans to donate blood to help the hundreds of thousands who have been left injured after the devastating incident. “Beirut needs your help. There are people in critical conditions!” she said.
