Riyadh’s Misk Art Week 2021 kicks off in a hybrid format

There is plenty to do and see at Misk Art Week 2021, which is taking place in a hybrid digital and physical format until Dec. 5 at Riyadh’s Prince Faisal bin Fahd Arts Hall.

    Visitors can enjoy three exhibitions — “Under Construction,” “Home: Being and Belonging” and “Here, Now” — which will feature works by local and international artists.

    A number of thought-provoking discussions will take place throughout the five-day event that will explore a range of topics such as art, design and architecture, among other things.

    In addition to talks and exhibitions, guests can also enjoy a variety of fun and creative workshops that include an introduction to knitting and weaving, calligraffiti, drawing 101 and creating your own ragdoll.

    Expect keynote speeches from the likes of renowned author and curator Simon Njami, Kuwaiti designer Laila Al-Hamad and Saudi artist Mohammed Al-Thaqafi.

    Learn the basics of color theory, how to design a poster and create your own silk-screen print in a series of masterclasses.

    The Art Library Salon is a gathering point for literary and art enthusiasts to come together for an evening of in-person conversations, readings and book signings.
