The Technical and Vocational Training Institute in Makkah region, in cooperation with the Makkah Technical Council and industrial secondary schools in the region, under the supervision of the Makkah governorate, is offering 33 technical and professional programs for the Saudi youth this summer.
The vocational training will be provided in 10 summer clubs in various technical institutes, industrial institutes and technical colleges across Makkah, Jeddah, Taif and Qunfudah. The program will run five days a week from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. throughout the summer. Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Zahrani, director of technical education for Makkah and chairman of the Technical and Vocational Training Institute Makkah, said the summer programs aim at engaging the youth in productive activities.
“These clubs are interested in attracting trainees and students in order to spread the culture of learning and professionalism. The main objective of the clubs is to focus on the implementation of programs that uphold the beliefs and values that are associated with the identity of citizenship and the country's development and security,” Al-Zahrani said, adding the programs target areas of intellectual, moral and social awareness among the youth.
Hajad bin Ahmed Al-Ghamdi, supervisor of the technical council and the programs, said 77 trainers specialized in various disciplines will train students in fields of general mechanics, refrigeration, air-conditioning, plumbing, painting, electrician services, machine operators, construction electrician, industrial electrician, office machines service, web page designing, computer maintenance, networking and graphic designing, audio and video production, photography, auto mechanics, carpentry, welding, tailoring, maintenance of home appliances, press printing, advertisement printing and the English language.
