BUENOS AIRES: The spontaneous dance moves of Argentinian President Cristina Elisabet Fernandez de Kirchner during a recent political rally in Buenos Aires have caused an Internet sensation, The Telegraph reported.

Kirchner began to gyrate to the rhythms of a politically-themed song at the end of a rally of ruling party candidate Daniel Scioli, the chosen successor of Fernandez.

Scioli, who is the governor of Buenos Aires, could be seen standing next to an arm-swaying Kirchner.

The dance lasted several minutes, and Kirchner saluted the large crowd in attendance, a gesture that is synonymous to the ‘Kirchnerista’ political movement.

Scioli, who represents the same Victory Front party, is leading the polls ahead of the first rounds of the presidential elections on Oct. 25.

Kirchner has been president of Argentina since 2007 when she succeeded her husband, Néstor Kirchner.

She has served two terms, during which she has delivered many controversial statements about the Falkland Islands.
