JEDDAH: Daesh is the evil of the present times. The international community, along with the Muslim world, must join hands to crush this evil, said Sirajul Haq, leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan (JIP).
The JIP leader, who was speaking at an iftar party organized in his honor in Jeddah, said Daesh’s inhuman activities have tarnished the image of Islamic teachings, including the religious duty of Jihad. The group is an anti-Islam outfit which strives to kill Muslims. The recent attacks by the group at Gulf mosques are the strongest evidence of its un-Islamic acts, he said.
There are major concerns regarding the group’s intention to spread its brutal activities in other parts of the world. Infact, a number of like-minded groups are emerging in Libya, Yemen, Afghanistan and Pakistan, vowing to follow the path of violence.
Sirajul Haq said the whole Muslim world is dismayed over the Yemen crisis. Houthis are pushing the whole region into fire.
He said JIP strongly condemns the Houthis and their supporter Ali Abdullah Saleh, the ousted president, adding that the military operation going on in Yemen against the rebel forces is in favor of the Yemeni people.
The JIP leader said that his party is in favor of continuing peaceful means to ensure long-term peace and security in the region.
He rejected the threats given to the Kingdom by the Houthi rebels after the fall of Sanaa, saying all the terrorist groups must stop their heinous crimes at once.
