ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s former chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lt. Gen. (retd) Hamid Gul was laid to rest on Sunday. Gul died of brain hemorrhage late Saturday night.
Funeral prayer of the ex-spy chief was attended by a large number of people, including Army Chief Gen. Raheel Sharif. Gulf was buried in Rawalpindi. Gul served as ISI chief between 1987 and 1989. He was one of the leaders who took part in the training of Afghans fighting Soviet forces in Afghanistan.
