QUETTA, Pakistan: Attacks in Pakistan’s troubled province of Baluchistan, including a suicide bombing targeting a pro-Taleban cleric and an assault on the country’s Shiite minority, killed 12 people on Thursday, police said.
At least three people were killed and 20 others injured as a suicide attack targeted Pakistan’s Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam rally, reports said.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman narrowly escaped the attack; however, his vehicle was completely destroyed.
The banned terrorist outfit Jundullah has claimed responsibility for the attack. Rehman had just exited the conference venue after his address when a bomber blew himself up. The attack caused a stampede at the rally.
