In a battle between two sister concerns, Kanoo got the better of Kanoo Travel by 11 runs in during the seventh week of the Premier Division Cricket League sponsored by Ace Travel and Tours and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.
In the other matches of the same division, Ace Travel routed AJ Blues by five wickets, Jawar Al Jazira got a scare before they beat Zinda Talismat by three wickets.
AJ Blues were bundled out for 135 against Ace Travel with Faheem Pasha (2 for 23) and Naveed (2 for 23) bowling an excellent line and length while Kamran and Sadiq picked up a wicket each.
Arman (30), Sajjad (20) and Rashid (20) were the lone scorers.
In reply Ace Travel raced home to 137 for 5 in 14.1 balls. Wajid scored a quick fire 57 runs. Faheem Pasha remained unbeaten with 23 runs. Shahruk (3 for 32) and Nadeem (2 for 18) bowled well but that was not good enough preventing Ace Travels from victory.
In the other match, Kanoo batted first and put on a solid 216 for 3 with the elegant and stylish Tabrez racing to a superb unbeaten 100. He was ably supported by the other opener Rashid (24). Other notable contributions came from Sami Khan (42) and Najam (25). Akbar, Amir and Mahmood took a wicket each.
In reply Kanoo Travel gave a befitting reply and rallied to go past 200 mark but at the end fell short as they finished with 205 for 9. Consistent Kaleem scored a fighting 96 runs off 36 balls but was unlucky to miss his century by 4 runs. Parvez Khan (30) and Akbar (23) gave him good support but some spirited bowling by Moid (5 for 28) who stopped the run flow. He was given good support with Tabrez who picked up (2 for 45).
Elesewhere, Zinda Talismath scored 162 for 5 in their allotted. Veteran Sadatullah scored 45 runs. Noor chipped in with a fluent 39 while Zaman got 31.
Omar bagged 2 for 19. Kamran, Tariq and Amir Shazad shared the spoils with a wicket each. In reply Jawar Al Jazira faltered but managed to reach the target 166 for 7 in 14.2 balls. Asim (48), Amer Shazad (21) and Javed (25 not out) were the main run getters. Sadatullah 3 for 34 and Noor 4 for 26 did their best for Talismath.
In the previous week Natco comfortably beat Ace Travel by 7 wickets. Ace Travel 178 for 6. Naveed (42) Abrar (32) and Shahzad (25) were the main scorers.
Yaseen (2 for 29 ) and Humayun (2 for 30) bowled well for Natco who in reply raced to 179 for the loss of 3 wickets. Ather Ali scored a fluent 94 and skipper Humayun also dazzled with a stylish 59 runs. The two put on 111 runs for the second wicket.
For Ace Travel Ashfaq Hussain got 2 for 34.
