The T/20 World Cup Final is being played on Sunday at R. Premadas Stadium in Colombo, between two worthy finalists, Sri Lanka and West Indies. Sri Lanka remained unbeaten in the super-eight matches. Although it has beaten West Indies at Pallekele by a huge 9 wicket margin, the way the Caribbeans toyed with the mighty Australians in the semi-final match, on Friday, promises us a keenly contested final. The Captain Mahela Jayawardena’s team will have the support of a capacity crowd of over 35,000 cricket crazy fans, screaming their throats out while Chris Gayle will be preparing to rain with his powerful sixes. Already he has the most number of sixes to his credit in the T/20 World Cup this year, who can prevent him adding some more in the final? We wish both teams the best of luck and the spectators and the viewers good entertainment for their money’s worth. The organizers of the competition deserve all the credits for any incidents free, peaceful World Cup. — S.H. Moulana, Riyadh
