RIYADH, 14 December — Unheralded Rene Clemente playing with the Pin Heads team scored 830 points in four-game series to clinch the Giordano Bowler of the Week award while the E-Banking team posted a 19-5 victory over the Wizard’s 23 to claim the Team of the Week award and extended their streak in the 8th week of the Giordano/OFWBR “Payanigan” Wednesday League at the Riyadh Inter-Continental Hotel Bowling Center.

The E-Banking’s outstanding victory against the Wizard’s 23 came through the heroics of Clem Guelas, Ed Sy, Rex Famadico and Remy Generales. Guelas and Sy toppled a four game series of 795 and 787 while Famadico and Generales posted a series of 759 and 717 in four games. Ely “usapang business” Reyes contributed a series of 670 in four outings.

The dazzling form of Ernie Gonzales sparkled in the Wizard’s 23 squad to topscore by carding a four game series of 777. Emil Rances shone against Gonzales by tallying a series of 712. Simon Montero and Johnny de Asis scored a series of 502 and 501 in three matches and Remy Pantaleon together with Bert Ambo rolled a series of 440 and 355.

The SkyFreight Forwarders continued their winning forms to humble the Game Ka Na Ba (19-6). SkyFreight lost the team of the week award to E-Banking team through the total team output. Jun Malana’s towering 817 series powered the SkyFreight to post a convincing win over the Game Ka Na Ba. Malana shot a game high of 233 in the first game.

Rolly Amis still trying to recuperate from his deadly forms came-in next to Malana by carding a series of 728. Arnel Crizaldo toppled a four-game series of 695 in four sets. Team captain, Larry Mondoy, Jimmy Medina and Lito Junio added a separate two game series of 367, 348 and 329. Atoy Malubay and Reden Tulabut carded a 204 and 155 in one game.

Jell Tan, Malco Muyco and Jasper Durago toppled a separate series of 651, 586 and 528 to lead in the Game Ka Na Ba team. Fred Zacarias rolled 492 pints in three games and Eymard Dimayuga collected a series of 340 in two games.

The match between the powerhouse Bankeros Atbp and fancied Ariba-Arabia resulted at 18-6, in Bankero’s favor. Ace Aloy Mier scored 774 series in four games to lift the Bankeros victory over the Ariba-Arabia. James Frizzle added 755 points to help the Bankeros stay alive till the end of the final games. Willy Pamiliran and Rodel Yap chipped-in separate three-game series of 557 and 543. Romy Cruz added 448 series off the bench for the Bankeros.

The troika of Mar Reyes, Benjie Bangug and Ed Dalisay led in the Ariba-Arabia by contributing a separate four game series of 758, 750 and 712. Manny Tuzon sparkled a series of 662 while Vher de Castro submitted a series of 332 in two games. Oliver Basa and Noel Morales downed 175 and 154 in one game.

The Pin Heads upset the heavy favorites Pangasinan Strikers through the good games of the bowler of the week holder Rene Clemente who shot a four game series of 830. Sante Herrera shot a series of 711 in four games to assist Clemente in gaining victory over the Pangasinan Strikers. Noel Marquez, Noli Agliam and Egai Asuncion sinked a separate series of 689, 674 and 637 in four outings.

Pep Maghinay’s string of strikes led the Pangasinan Strikers by carding a four game series of 758. Yuli Braganza, the debuting Ver Cayago and Mario Rosal garnered a separate three game series of 544, 521 and 519. Phol Grepo scored 476 series in three games while Joey Maningas and Pat “philip medel” Ras submitted an identical two game series of 357.

In other gruelling matches, the Sunrise and the Scorpions II humbled their separate opponents, the Coolebraz and the Split Converters. The Sunrise captained by Eden Bergonio scored 12 points to win the games over the Coolebraz. Showing the way in the Sunrise quintet is the duo of Elmer Aquino and Eden Bergonio who toppled a separate four game series of 754 and 719. Ed “turbo” Acosedo and Louie Leguarda posted a series of 693 and 677 in four matches. Bashar Al-Khalaj and Ahmed Zeptawi scored a series of 348 and 310 in two games.

For the Scorpions team, leading scorers was Joel Alegre with 758 points, followed by Jolly dela Torre (683), Neil Gafur (562), Roger Fortuno (557), Boy Bartolome (328) and Gene Disominea (304).

Romy Liggayu led in the Coolebraz by submitting a series of 656 in four outings. Chris Tolosa downed 558 points in three sets while Donjie Mapalad had 447 series in two games. Ace Sulit, Raul Medina, Larry Manalo and Val Marcelino toppled a series of 349, 337, 329 and 315.

At helm in the Split Converters team was Jomarie de Luna with 621 series in four games. Dante “cheeney” Prado rolled 576 in three games. Sonny Legaspi shot 552 points and Rolly Manalang pinned-down 465 series in three games.
