RIYADH, 1 February — The Bicol Express — Besa team and Jojo Demetrio captured separate awards in style by clinching the Team of the Week and the Bowler of the Week awards on the 10th week of the SkyFreight Forwarders/OFWBR Inter-Province Bowling League being played at the Riyadh Inter-Continental Hotel Bowling Center.

Taking advantage of playing against the bye-team, the Bicol Express team through the good games of Ferdie Ramos and Dellosa with a support extended by fellow members Henry Sonias, Chris Bautista , Ed Sesperes and Toffee San Jose sealed 20 points to emerge as the week’s best team. Ramos and Dellosa rolled a separate four-game series of 755 and 718. Sonias and Bautista tallied 557 and 528 series while Sesperes and San Jose downed 378 and 349 in two games, respectively.

Jojo Demetrio likewise shared honor with the Bicol Express team by clinching the Bowler of the Week award by carding a four-game series of 804. The heroics of Demetrio powered the defending champion and the league leader, the Pangasinan Strikers to humble the Laguna Strikers (20-8).

Pep Maghinay and Joey Maningas supported Demetrio by adding a separate series of 771 and 709. Phol Grepo fired 699 while Wilson Bacala and Pat Raz contributed a series of 398 and 344.

For Laguna Strikers quintet, topscoring is the tandem of Romy Matic and Rolly Manalang who shot a series of 755 and 742 in four outings. Bouyish Marvin Arocena knocked-down a series of 579 in three sets. Boy Galang rolled 405 in two games and Jomari de Luna scored 328 points and Joe Concepcion pocketed a series of 321 in two games.

The Vision 2 of Alex Bandoy rolled-past the Luzvimin Pin Busters (18-6). Unheralded Emil Rances of the Vision 2 top scored with a series of 801, followed by Romy Aldama (734), Remy Pantaleon (552), Nap Torres (527), Bandoy (369) and Arman Caraig (300).

Hanibal Geronimo and Malco Muyco of the Luzvimin Pin Busters are at the forefront with a series of 733 and 703. Ed Dalisay and Bher del Rosario knocked-down a series of 694 and 600 in four sets. Nestor Tercio scored 516 series while Jojo Miraflor downed 168 in one game.

Other matches: Pampanga won 17 points over the bye-team, ABB Mixed Stars Bt. Opnel (15-10), Metro Five Stars Bt. Calabarzon (14-5).
