JEDDAH, 27 February — The King Fahd Cup tournament, which is in its 18th week, will feature two important matches today —Al-Ittihad vs. Al-Ansar in Madinah and Al-Riyadh vs. Al-Shabab in Riyadh.

Al-Ittihad thus returns to Madinah to meet Al-Ansar again in an important match. It won 4-2 in the Crown Prince Cup semifinal last week. Both teams are eyeing victory to gain three points.

Al-Ansar is just a point below Al-Ittihad which has16 points in the league tournament.

At present Al-Hilal tops the table with 36 points. Al-Ittihad coach Oscar is expected to adopt appropriate strategies as the game progresses.

Al-Shabab, which has 16 points, will meet Al-Riyadh with 29 points, at the capital’s Prince Faisal ibn Fahd Stadium. In the last league match between the two teams, Al-Shabab won 1-0.

Fans wonder whether Al-Shabab will be able to record one more win or whether Al-Riyadh will avenge its defeat of the previous match.
