JEDDAH, 22 March — Brotherhood Bowling Group chairman, Arnold Alday finally cracked his big test score as the Al-Alamiah Insektos took a landslide victory over the Tornado team (5-0) in the ongoing Friday Inter-Commercial Bowling League being played at the Jeddah Bowling Centre (JBC).
Alday’s was a revelation. He scored 224 in the first and rolled another 226 in the second game and eloped 195 in the third game, for a total three-game series scratch of 645, average of 215. Equipped with 15 handicaps, Alday tallied three game-series handicap of 690. “It’s great to get a big score for the team and from a personal note it’s very satisfying to be able to score a series 645 points,” Alday said. Extending splendid support to Alday came through the gems of Nonie Yap, Sid Lapena, Luz Pagaran and Bugsy Alday. Yap and Lapena toppled a separate three-game series of 584 and 522 while the duo of Pagaran and Bugsy contributed a series of 521 and 441.
In the scoreless Tornado team, it was Roger Daquioag who fired the best series by carding 627 points. Willie A. and Jess Cerbito downed 522 and 500 while Edna Uy and Nurissa submitted a series of 384 and 370 in three matches, respectively.
The Pepsi team keglers humiliated the Ball Mixer in straight games (5-0) and saw the 300 perfect holder, Rene Santiago lifted the Pepsi’s brilliant performances over the Ball Mixer team. Santiago tallied a three-game series scratch of 675. Ramiz A. followed Santiago with the next best score by posting a series of 613. Zaldy P., Rose P. and Esther J. garnered a separate series of 563, 451 and 406.
Pasky Lirasan led in the Ball Mixer squad with a series of 504. Vic Bantay and Bhing Tuazon cracked down a series of 489 and 483. Ver Luz had 462 series while Connie Santiago scored 362 points in three games.
The Sadafco bowling team demolished the Al-Zamil II in straight matches (5-0) and showing the way in the Sadafco are Rene M. (559) and Nanding S. (523). Grace and Puri sparkled a series of 422 and 409.
Topscoring in the Al-Zamil II team was Jay Perez with 509 series. Followed him are Gil Ordonez (489) and Lavern L. (463). Jess Escondo and Rose snatched a series of 459 and 342.
The games between the Otra Cosa and Swingers 2 turned in 5-0, with Otra Cosa emerged as the winner. Centennial Danny de Guzman of the Otra Cosa hammered the lanes to post a series of 657. J. Pinoy, Randy Mata and Sta. Ana scored a series of 557, 537 and 535. Myrna de Guzman poured 474 points.
Mao Orolfo was at the helm in the Swingers 2 team with a three-game series of 644, followed by Igna Salgado (482), Riah (453), Doy Arceo (439) and Alice (355).
In another fashion, the NPS/Internet@Kape brushed aside the Al-Zain Cargo. Goying Salazar topscored in the NPS/Internet@Kape by carding a series of 578. Mixi Lechuga, Beng Cerbito and Mario Narvasa knockedout a series of 551, 512 and 501.
Nap Patayan shot a series of 572 for the Al-Zain Cargo. Val Magsino, Ed L. and Susan Patayan emerged with a separate series of 525, 476 and 473.
Other matches: Acis B. Bt. Lux (4-1), Power Strikers IX Bt. Skyfreight Forwarders (4-1), Jewellers Bt. Seiko (3-2).
