RIYADH, 3 May — It is sure that ANB/Al Rumaih are crowned champions of Division Two. They have four wins and one tie gaining 9 league points, King Abdulaziz Medical City Tennis Club (1) have five league points will be the runners-up.
In this match, ANB/Al Rumaih won four sets from seven, the games were as follows: Drequito lost to Amara (3-8), Onias defeated Petersen (8-6), Onias/Pacleb defeated the duo of Catiis/Schawsmidth (8-4), while the pair of Angeles/Yapsangco lost to Amara/Costumbrado (3-8), Onias/Pacleb defeated Lintag/Costumbrado (8-3) and Yapsangco/Pacleb defeated Rabago/Celes (8-2).
Div. 3: KAMCTC2 upset Vinnell Arabia in the second round match by winning (46-44) that much enhance the tough competition between three teams: The Net Ralliers having 8 league points followed by Vinnell Arabia and King Abdulaziz Medical City Tennis Club2 (KAMCTC2) each have 6 league points. The last match between Net Ralliers vs. KAMCTC2 next week will be decisive one for the final teams standing wish shows the champions and the runners-up. The score went in favor of Net Ralliers. The match went very close between KAMC with Vinnell Arabia.
KAMC won 4 sets from 7 as Al Sadawi defeated Barcelona (8-2), Sadawi/Cepe defeated Obligado/Barcelona (8-5), Cepe/Cardinal defeated Malibiran/Biag (8-7) tie break 7-2 and Cardinal/Marquez defeated Obligado/Tuquero (8-6).
From Vinnell Team, Bacud defeated Koglberger (8-6), Bacud/Malayas defeated Dietmar/Nummela (8-7) tie break (7-5) and Malayas/Escape defeated Nummela/Marquez (8-1).
The season will end on Friday, May 10. The awarding ceremony will be held on May 16 at Najd Compound. Abdullah Al Thehaiban, asst. managing director of Sports Ghornatah, Tamer Al-Ashmawi, Coca-Cola Regional Marketing Manager and Akhtar Saeed, Coca-Cola Marketing Services Manager, Central Region, will attend the ceremony. The sponsors of the Spring Season 2002 will distribute the trophies and prizes to the winners.
Mugayel leads KFSH in the
final rounds of Division One
Number one Saudi national tennis player, Bader Al-Mugayel, an employee with KFSH as head tennis instructor & public relation in-charge (Recreation Services).
He played his first match against KAMC/Vinnell in the 4th round. His team got full support to win (56-33). As Mugayel/Veradio defeat Al-Anazi (Saudi national player)/Malinao (8-1). Also, Mugayel/Simolde defeat Al-Anazi/De Leon (8-3). There were other good matches won by KFSH like Biay defeat Navidad (8-7) tie break (7-5), Vilan/Hoyumpa defeat Malinao (8-7) tie break (9-7) and Biay/Tufenkeji defeat Leis/De Leon (8-6).
In Div. Three: The Net Ralliers advance for the awarding as champion or runner-up as they beat their colleagues from KFSH-B & F by a heavy score of (50-29).
The Net Ralliers won (5) sets from (7) of their best matches were: Eugenio/Manlapig defeated Al-Swaidan/Barriaga (8-6), Eugenio/Ardenio beat Barriaga/Vasquez (8-3) and Quilacio/Arastia beat Minas/Vasquez (8-3) from KFSH-B & F: Numer defeat Tutanes (8-4) and Numer/Minas defeated Talatala/Quilacio (8-6).
In Division Four: Mother Tennis Team defeated Najd Compound (52-28). The winning team is nominative to be the 1st runner-up, the match went easily in favor of Mother Team as they won five from best-of-seven with a heavy score maximum (3) games every set. The best matches were Adalla/Anulacion defeat Haban/Razzaq (8-5), Carido/Marasigan defeat Brandenbur/Schlipkoether (8-3), Adalla lost to Razzaq (6-8) and Aday/Carido lost to Rahman/Kannapin (6-8).
