ALKHOBAR, 17 May — AGE defeated archrivals Al Ghamdi off the last ball of the match in the Premier Division of the EPCA Al Dossary Hardware Super Cup played here recently.
Credit goes to Nadeem, who batted superbly hitting two boundaries in the last over and took his team to a great victory.
Batting first, Al Ghamdi scored 160 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Sajjad 44 runs was the top scorer. Nasir also batted well and scored 27 runs. Dawood bowled very well and ripped through Al Ghamdi’s middle-order and captured 4 wickets for 26 runs. In reply, AGE reached the target off the last ball of the match. Waheed gave AGE a good start and he was well supported by Modassar as they scored 29 runs each but Nadeem played a gem of an innings and scored an unbeaten 49 runs including 5 superb boundaries and a towering six and won the match for his team. Hasan and Rehan Khawar bowled well and took 2 wickets each.
In another match of the first division, Deccan Blues beat Globe Marine by 76 runs. Batting first, Deccan Blues piled up 211 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Nazeer Pasha and Mahboob laid the solid foundation and scored 54 runs in just 6 overs. Mahboob departed after scoring 18 runs off the bowling of Naveed Khan. Rubelin D’Souza joined Pasha and took the score to 85 when Pasha lost his wicket at the hands of Naveed after scoring a superb half century which included 3 hits to the fence and 2 mighty sixes. Ehtisham joined D’Souza and both batted with great discipline and rotated the strike. Ehtisham contributed 31 before he was bowled by Iqbal Talib but D’Souza was in tremendous form as he batted magnificently and scored an unbeaten 84 runs in just 39 balls which with ten beautiful boundaries and one fine six.
In reply, Globe Marine were all out for 135. Adnan batted very well and scored 43 runs with the help of 3 boundaries and a huge six over long on. Ayub Khan 18 runs and Irfan 15 runs were other main scorers. Shakil and Ehtisham bowled well and took 2 wickets each. In another match, Rainbow beat Hyderabad Blues by 44 runs. Rainbow batted first and scored 185 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Raza 32 runs, Basharat 27, Imtiaz 21, Zulfiqar 20 and Khawar scored 19 runs. Zahir bowled well and took 3 wickets for 44 runs and Suresh took 2 wickets for 29 runs.
In reply, Hyderabad Blues could only score 141 runs and in the process they lost 7 wickets. Taj scored an unbeaten 43 runs with two towering sixes. Tanweer contributed 22 runs and Khurram retired hurt after scoring 15 runs. Zulfiqar Basharat and Shakil bowled well and took 2 wickets each.

Six-a-Side Tourney
In the Olayan (Tang) Six-a-Side tournament Imran Tigers beat Al Ghamdi in the final. On last ball 5 runs were needed for the victory when Tahir Karamat hit a magnificent six over midwicket and won the tournament in a grand style for Imran Tigers. Al Ghamdi batted first and scored 108 runs in their allotted 5 overs. Riaz Saeed was top scorer with 30 runs not out, Shahjahan also scored a breezy 30 run not out and Khawar scored 22 runs. Irfan bowled well and took 2 wickets for 17 runs. In reply, Imran Tigers reached the target off the last ball. Waseem batted magnificently and scored a superb half century. He hit six beautiful boundaries and a mighty six before getting run out. Irfan contributed well with16 runs. 18 runs were needed off the last over of Sajjad which they scored and stun Al Ghamdi.
Imran Tigers beat Kanoo
Batting first, Imran Tigers scored 94 runs in the semifinal. Waseem again played an anchor role and scored 32 runs while Tahir contributed with his breezy 12 runs. Naheed took 2 wickets for Kanoo. In reply, Kanoo could only score 56 runs. Qaiser scored 20 runs and Eijaz 14.
Al Ghamdi beat SPG
SPG batted first and scored 88 runs in another man of the semifinal. Talal scored a superb 42 with 3 hits to the fence and 3 towering sixes. Mahmood also scored a breezy 22 runs. In reply, Al Ghamdi reached the target off the last over as 26 runs required in last over which looked impossible but Talal bowled too many wides and conceded 26 runs in the last over. Khawar batted brilliantly and scored 36 runs while Shahjahan chipped in with 15 runs. Tariq bowled well and took 2 wickets. In the 2nd round, Imran Tigers beat Youngsters. Imran Tigers scored 79. Raza 41, Wasim 15 and Irfan 14 runs were the main scorers. Youngsters could only manage 64 runs. Qayum 16 runs was the top scorer. Parwez bowled well and took 2 wickets for 9 runs. In another match, Al Ghamdi beat AGE. Al Ghamdi batted first and scored 121. Shahjahan 40 not out and Riaz 37 runs were the main scorers. AGE, in reply, scored 103 runs. Modassar 30 runs and Zahid scored 18 runs were the main scorers for AGE.
Imran Tigers beat YATA
YATA batted first and scored 84 runs. Shahzad 47 runs and Nadeem 15 runs were the main scorers. Parwez bowled well and took 2 wickets for 8 runs. Imran Tigers reached the target in the 4th over. Raza 42 and Waseem 20 runs were the main scorers.
AGE beat Al Hoda
AGE scored 93 runs. Zahid 49 and Sikandar and Dawood scored 17 runs each. Al Hoda could only manage 61 runs. Faisal 18 and Suresh 16 runs were the main scorers. Dawood took 2 wickets for 8 runs. In the first round, SPG beat Rainbow. SPG scored 90 runs. Talal 36 and Mahmood scored 37 runs for SPG. Rainbow, in reply, could score 53 runs. Raza 40 runs was the main scorer.
Al Ghamdi beat DHL
Al Ghamdi scored 124 runs. Sajjad played magnificently scored 33 runs off 9 balls. He hit 4 sixes and two boundaries during his innings. Tariq and Khawar scored a breezy 25 runs each. DHL scored 63 runs. Sunil 32 runs was the top scorer. Waseem of Imran Tigers was the best batsman of the tournament with 117 runs and Parwez was the best bowler with 4 wickets for Imran Tigers.
