JEDDAH, 24 May — Nearly 50 youngsters battled it out at Sharbatly Village when they held their 1st children’s triathlon recently. The event was part of the sports program to encourage their participation in this exciting new sport.
The children ranged from 8-14 years of age completed various distances over the swimming, cycling and running disciplines of this event.
After some exciting racing in the three events the following come out triumphant.
Girls 8 years: 1. Dima Demashkieh; 2. Nayana Prakash; 3. Selina Chaouk.; Boys 8 years: 1. George Weir; 2. Davide Marin; 3. Ahmed Abbas.; Girls 9 & 10 years: 1. Nathalie Husny; 2. Ozge Karaali; 3. Anita Abou Nahed.; Boys 13 & 14 years: 1. Adel Chaouki; 2. Daniele Bianchi; 3. Ali Badan.; Boys 9 & 10 years: 1. Randy Rayess; 2. Raymond Fenton; 3. Sherif Mostafa.; Girls 11 & 12 years: 1. Gida Sabbagh; 2. Diala Demashkieh.; Boys 11 & 12 years: 1. Khaled Hosni; 2. Jarvis Weir; 3. Daniel Fenton.
Sharbatly Village thanked Ali Sherif of Zahid Tractor for their assistance, and support to bring this event a success. In the end, all the children were given T-shirts, medals and sports bags sponsored by Reebok and Speedo.
