JEDDAH, 27 December 2002 — Passionate basketball fans are all set to throng the newly refurbished ALJ court starting Jan. 24, 2003, as the 10th ALJ Invitational Basketball Tournament formally kicks off. Old and new faces of seasoned basketball players are counted upon to display their skills in the eight-team inter-ALJ division. New entrants Mega Body Shop, SJAHI-Training Center and Family Division are all set to lock horns with the teams of ALJ Head Office, ALJ Hospital, CPD-UOAC, Lexus Division and NDC-Denso-PCC.
Two groups shall comprise the inter-company bona fide division, each with a total of eight teams. Group-A has the teams of defending champions Zuhair Fayez Partnership, Sharbatly Cold Storage, Saudi Diyar Consultants, Masa Pest Control, Fujitec Elevators, Kudu Foodmasters, Al Jimaih Motors and Saudi British Bank. Sending their best bets in Group-B are the teams of Zahid Tractors, Budget Rent A Car, Marhaba Supermarkets, Al Mabani Contractors, Leylaty Restaurants, King Fahad Military Hospital Binzagr-Unilever and inter-hospital champions Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital. Special added attraction will come from the Open rated division, which has five teams composed of the city’s known players. Basamh-Goody is expected to strut its wares against the equally tough teams of Top Travel, Miyabe-Abe, Black Top and Samsung.
