RIYADH, 1 January 2003 — Prince Khaled ibn Sultan, assistant defense minister for military affairs, yesterday met with Ellen Tauscher, a member of the US Congress’ Armed Services Committee and her delegation.
They reviewed issues of mutual interest. The meeting was attended by US Ambassador to the Kingdom Robert Jordan and a number of officials.
Tauscher, a Democrat from California, is a ranking member of the Special Panel of the Armed Services Committee that oversees the National Nuclear Security Administration. She has come out in support of US military action against Iraq only as a last resort and after working in the United Nations to resolve the disarmament crisis peacefully. (SPA, AFP)
