JEDDAH, 2 January 2003 — Seven women journalists representing the local media scored a first by attending a press conference together at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry yesterday.
Such a turnout of women journalists at a press conference has never been seen in Jeddah before but a JCCI official said, "It's nothing surprising. After all, the press conference is about the forthcoming Jeddah Economic Forum 2003, a three-day event beginning with sessions exclusively for women on the opening day."
