MAKKAH, 19 January 2003 — The Car Syndicate has so far transported 165,000 pilgrims this Haj season, according to Mohammed Zakariya Jouharji, head of the organization. "For the first time this year, the syndicate has put stickers on the luggage of pilgrims carried by its buses," he said. The syndicate has allocated SR4.5 million for the transportation of pilgrims from Southeast Asia, Turkey, Europe and America following a continuous traffic system. "We have also spent more than SR1 million on constructing temporary housing facilities for drivers," he added.
