MAKKAH, 24 January 2003 — At least 55 people were treated at King Abdul Aziz Hospital in Makkah for symptoms of food poisoning after eating dinner at the restaurant of a hotel here. A few people started complaining about stomach pain, headache and shivering some six hours after taking dinner at the restaurant. Their number gradually rose and the authorities took immediate action to provide emergency treatment to the patients, Al-Madinah daily reported.
