RIYADH, 3 February 2003 — Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, has slammed campaigns against Islam and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
He said Prophet Muhammad was respected all over the world. “In fact, only spiteful people and some Zionist quarters do not respect the Prophet,” the crown prince added. He was speaking to reporters after laying the foundation stone for the second phase of King Saud University City here on Saturday evening.
“As long as we are going in the right direction, we should ignore such biased campaigns,” he said.
On the same occasion, Crown Prince Abdullah urged banks in the Kingdom to contribute positively to financing the proposed fund for scientific research.
He also voiced support for a proposal by Riyadh Governor Prince Salman to allow certain research projects to be funded by businesses and bear their names. (SPA)
