JEDDAH, 15 February 2003 — The US Federal Aviation Authority has withdrawn the licenses of two Saudi Arabian Airlines pilots, Moen Hassan Zarie and Tarek Hassan Al-Jefry. They also prevented them from flying planes in the US, saying the two posed a security threat, according to Asharq Al-Awsat.
In reply to the US move, Saudia decided to issue its own aviation licenses to all its pilots within a month to allow them to fly planes anywhere in the world, including the US. Saudia also decided to cancel its dealings with the US authority when it comes to issuing aviation licenses to its pilots.
