DAMMAM, 16 February 2003 — In the first three days of Eid, the Saudi Red Crescent Society was called to 200 incidents which resulted in victims being hospitalized.
These included two fatal car crashes caused by speeding.
Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, field supervisor of the Saudi Red Crescent Society in the Eastern Province, told Arab News that among the other incidents were cases of poisoning, car crashes, heart attacks, falls from buildings, high blood pressure and fist fights.
“Emergency teams are experiencing tremendous pressure because of the increased number of visitors to Dammam beach,” he added.
“However, there were no accidents recorded in public amusement parks or any cases of drowning.”
