RIYADH, 9 March 2003 — The Bangladesh Embassy has reduced charges for new passport and passport renewal for professional and skilled workers by up to 40 percent.
According to Muhammad Zafor, minister and deputy chief of mission at the Bangladesh Embassy, a new passport will cost SR620 on an urgent basis as against the normal rate of SR414. Charges for the renewal of passport are SR124 (urgent) for one year and SR83 (ordinary) for the same period.
The following are the charges for passport renewal for two years in urgent and ordinary cases: Urgent: SR248; Ordinary: SR166; three years: SR372/SR250; four years: SR496/SR332; five years: SR620/SR414.
Endorsement of documents will carry charges ranging from SR310 for urgent to SR166 in ordinary cases, while attestation and driving license renewal (one year) will cost SR22 and SR13 respectively. Travel permit charge has been fixed at SR143 for urgent and SR72 in ordinary case.
For unskilled workers the consular service charges have been reduced by 33 percent in urgent cases and 25 percent for ordinary issuance or renewal of passport. For new passport, the rate is SR248 for urgent and SR124 for ordinary issuance of passport.
The following are the charges for passport renewal ranging from one to five years; One year: SR50 (urgent) SR25 (ordinary); two years: SR100/SR50; three years: SR150/SR75; four years: SR200/SR100; five years: SR248/SR124.
Charges for attestation of a document and renewal of driving license (one year) have been fixed at SR22 and SR13 respectively. Charges for issuing travel permit remain the same for professional, skilled and unskilled categories at SR143 and SR72 respectively. Endorsement of documents will cost SR83 in urgent and SR42 in ordinary cases.
