RIYADH, 19 March 2003 — Vanity number plates were sold here yesterday for high prices at an auction.
Eighteen such numbers were sold after heavy bidding between buyers who were mostly young men in their 20’s. The number plate KLM-666 was sold for a record SR40,000 while KHL-666 went for SR35,000. The auction fetched a total of SR241,000.
