RIYADH, 4 May 2003 — Saudi businessmen will meet with their German counterparts at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry here today to discuss prospects of expanding cooperation in different areas including information technology, education and tourism.
According to a statement carried by Saudi Press Agency, the German team will include representatives of a number of companies specialized in tourism, air transport, hotel services, education, information technology, telecommunications, electronic commerce, Internet services and commercial arbitration.
“The meeting aims at enhancing economic, commercial and investment cooperation between the Kingdom and Germany,” the statement said.
Labor committee: The Labor Committee at the Riyadh chamber held a meeting here recently and approved its executive bylaws.
The meeting elected Abdul Rahman Al-Qahtani chairman of the committee, a source told Arab News.
Fahd Al-Harabi was named deputy chairman, Muhammad Al-Masradi secretary, Rashid Al-Hazzani treasurer and Muhammad Al-Motairi labor affairs researcher.
The election was conducted in light of the executive bylaws which allowed the formation of such labor committees at establishments where more than 100 Saudis work.
Labor and Social Affairs Minister Dr. Ali Al-Namlah approved the executive bylaws in April last year.
The labor committees seek to improve work conditions and productivity of workers.
There are more than 300 Saudi employees at the Riyadh Chamber.
