JEDDAH, 14 November 2003 — King Faisal Specialists Hospital posted their third win in the elimination round of the ongoing 9th Seiko-17th FBA Presidential Cup at Ittihad Sports Club in Jeddah by beating SBG-RPD (117-101) in a hotly contested but exciting ballgame.
Topscoring for KFSH-Expert System were Buboy Rapada, Allen Ng, Nonoy Soliveres, Bautista and Pat Cecilio while Jabri together with Montesa, Dollendo, Ara and Ronquillo gave their best for SBG-RPD but to no avail. Dr. Erfan Bagedo Hospital of beat Cafe Aroma in a lopside match.
Final score was 101-72 in favor of Erfan via the relentless efforts of Fakkie, Bacotoc, Bautista, Navarro and Dizon. Caffe Aroma’s Gadingan’s scored 36 points in the game.
In the other games; Saudi Oger, Ltd. registered their third victory at the expense of KFSH-Expert System (87-82) via the plays of Alvin Serrano, Bansil and Santos. Cecilio, Arquero and Buboy Rapada scored high for KFSH-Expert System but they still lost. Bridgestone Tires won against Wartsila by a very convincing (97-88) through the efforts of the triumvirates of Mulong De Guzman (40 pts.).
Labini, Soliveres, Fernandez and Alcanar topscored for Wartsila. Al-Majal Service Master prevailed over Afkar Promo Seven (AP7) (75-62). Gunners for Al Majal SM were Consignado, Caliwag, Carpio and Guinto. Dalit, Junio, Oliva and Raras also scored well for AP7.
Saudi Oger Ltd. again won their Friday’s game at the expense of Thales Naval France (86-80). Alvin Serrano led the scoring machine together with Bansil, Santos, Seloria, Flores and Manalansan.
In the much awaited game between Experts Internet Solution and (Cali- SMC), the former won over the latter (86-80) in a thrilling ballgame. Dante Rivero, Jhong Rapada and Abril Mabarit were instrumental in the victory of Experts Internet Solution, their second in a row. Cali’s Jaime Hernandez scored 24 points, followed by Rey Buhat and Ric Belarmino with 13 points apiece, Gatchalian 11points and Almoite 10 points.
