JEDDAH, 21 November 2003 — Al-Amoudi team won the first Ramadan soccer tournament organized by Saudi Arabian Airlines at its club in Khalediya recently.
The tournament was sponsored by Sadafco.
Al-Amoudi beat the Airport team to clinch the prestigious cup in a penalty shootout (4-1) after the two drew 1-1 in normal time.
The final match was attended by a number of prominent personalities including Ahmed Al-Marzouki, former chairman of Al-Ahli Club, and Talal Al-Khudari, the airline’s vice president, personnel.
Al-Marzouki, chairman Sadafco, presented the trophies to the winners and runners-up.
Nine teams took part in the tournament, which drew a large crowd of soccer fans in the city.
