EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey, 23 November 2003 — Patrick Elias scored two goals, including the game-winner 39 seconds into overtime, to stretch the New Jersey Devils unbeaten streak to 11 games with a 2-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday.
Elias had opened the scoring 3:45 into the game before Penguins defenseman Dick Tarnstrom scored on the power play with just 27 seconds remaining in the game.
Elias then scored on a break out just after overtime began and beat rookie goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury with a wrist shot to the left hand side.

In Dallas, the Stars snapped a seven-game winless streak with a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings. After Jere Lehtinen gave Dallas a 1-0 lead just 69 seconds into the game, Brenden Morrow beat goaltender Roman Cechmanek at 3:05 of the second for a two-goal cushion.
