JEDDAH, 2 October 2004 — Four games were played yesterday in the King Fahd Cup Soccer League with Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli maintaining their impressive form while Al-Hilal and Al-Ittifaq were left struggling, with the latter losing.

In Madinah, Ahli outplayed Ohod at the Prince Muhammad ibn Abdul Aziz Stadium, easily securing three points following a 5-0 verdict. Ahli first scored in the 9th minute through striker Rogerio with the second goal coming in the 25th minute again by Rogerio, who converted a penalty award. Ahli went to the break with a 2-0 lead.

Ahli managed to score three more goals through Betchar, from a free kick in the 67th minute, Rogerio, who completed his hat trick, in the 75th minute and Hussien Al-Turket in the 85th minute. Ahli are fourth with 9 points while Ohod are last with 2 points.

At the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium here, Ittihad pounded Al-Ansar of Madinah 4-0. The first goal by Hamza Idrees came in the 4th minute and the floodgates were opened. Idrees pounced on a defensive lapse to score. The second goal in the 15th minute was scored by Ibraheem Suwaeed cashed in. Idrees struck Ittihad’s third in the 63rd minute and Hassan Al-Yami rounded off the tally in the 81st minute. Ittihad are third with 10 points while Al-Ansar are in sixth position.

Hilal continued to struggle when they were held 1-1 by Al-Riyadh at Prince Faisal ibn Fahd Stadium. Riyadh took the lead in the 39th minute through Khalefa Ayed from a penalty kick and Hilal equalized in the 50th minute through international Tafarees. Hilal and Riyadh remained 10th and 11th with 4 points each.

In Hail, Al-Taie defeated Al-Ittifaq of Dammam 1-0. Taie moved to fifth with 9 points while Ittifaq are eighth with 5 points.
