JEDDAH, 13 February 2005 — The National Commercial Bank (NCB) employed 417 Saudi nationals during 2004 in various sectors and departments of the bank across the Kingdom.

Abdulhadi A. Shayif, general manager of the NCB, stated that the Ahli bank “succeeded in achieving the highest rate for employing Saudis on the Saudi banking scale. Hence the percentage of Saudization at the bank reached 86 percent for the end of last year, a matter which qualified the bank to be honored by Interior Minister Prince Naif with the award for highest Saudization.

In response to a question about the number of employees at the bank, he said that the total was 4,322 at the end of last year. He added that most of them benefited from training programs which are offered by the bank yearly within and outside the Kingdom.

Shayif said that the bank continued to exert efforts in the area of qualifying Saudi youth and training and helping them with employment. This is due to the bank’s sense of social responsibility and its role toward strengthening the Saudization strategy, he said.

Shayif said that the NCB is currently constructing a new academic training building in Jeddah comprised of 4 floors.

The building is designed to fill the bank’s needs for more modern training facilities.
