Nova Water
The Health Water Bottled Company (HWBC) has obtained HACCP & ISO 9001:2000 certification for its Nova bottled drinking water. “The Nova plant, which went into production in 2002, obtained the certification in a very short time due to the adoption of highest technical specifications and use of the state-of-the-art equipment in its production lines,” HWBC General Manager Walid Sulaiman Al-Jamaan said. It became worthy of certification due to the risk analysis system implemented for the identification of critical control spots, which is one of the basic requirements for assessing quality control systems in food and water plants worldwide. Since the establishment of the Nova plant for producing bottled drinking water on international level, the company never compromised on quality and service. Moreover, drinking water is bottled at a source in Nofoud Al-Wase’e. Al-Jamaan extended his appreciation to all partners of the company and its board of management for their support. The company is considering an expansion plan and also new techniques in producing bottled drinking water. It has also been distributing flyers and brochures to educate the public about the quality of the bottled water.
GSK
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), a market leader in oral hygiene, has recently launched the Aquafresh Flex Tooth & Tongue Brush in UAE, which provides a simple and effective answer to help you clean your whole mouth. This is the first consumer product in the Middle East to place as much importance on the cleanliness of the whole mouth to increase fresh breath. Dentists maintain that cleaning teeth is not enough to keep breath fresh; cleaning the tongue for 30 seconds twice a day removes five times as much bacteria as four minutes of tooth-brushing. Aquafresh is now launching the dual-purpose brush in Arabia to offer a more complete dental hygiene solution. The brush combines X-Active plaque cleaning bristles on the front of the toothbrush head with innovative, rubber tongue-cleaning grooves on the reverse, which help clean the tongue’s surface. “This product has been designed to be simple to use to encourage people to clean their tongue. The Tooth & Tongue effectively removes bacteria from the tongue surface and consumers will therefore notice fresher breath immediately,” said Sameer Desai, GSK’s Group Brand Manager for oral care and nutritionals.
