MADINAH, 20 February 2005 — A 42-year-old Indonesian female pilgrim tried to commit suicide by cutting her veins during a fight with her husband’s second wife in a local hotel, Al-Madinah newspaper reported. The woman used a kitchen knife to cut her wrist. When the husband returned to the room, he found his wife on the floor lying in a pool of blood. The woman was then taken to a hospital. Police have opened an investigation after they successfully brought about a truce between the two wives. The police even gave both women presents to celebrate the occasion.
