DOHA, 1 March 2005 — A criminal court in the Qatari capital started yesterday hearing three cases of alleged embezzlement of tens of millions of dollars of public funds involving two former officials, before adjourning to next month.
The two ex-officials from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture are facing charges of embezzlement of public funds in two of the cases before the court, and one of the defendants in all three cases.
