JEDDAH, 1 March 2005 — The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is reducing fares from Saudi Arabia to destinations in Pakistan from today. This was announced here yesterday by Wasif Jalal, manager of coordination for PIA in Saudi Arabia. Any PIA flight taking off from Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam for Pakistan, will offer reduced fares to all its customers, he said.
Fares for direct one-way flight from Jeddah to Karachi will be reduced to SR930 while round trip fare will be SR1,450. Direct flights from Jeddah to Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar will cost SR1,000 for one way and SR1,600 for round trip. Passengers who choose indirect flight via Karachi will have to pay SR965 for one way and SR1,525 for round trip. One-way fare for direct flight from Riyadh and Dammam to Karachi is SR690 and SR1,195 for return.
Travelers to Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar from Riyadh and Dammam will have to pay SR960 for one way, while they will be charged SR1,330 for two way. Fares for indirect flight via Karachi are SR825 for one way and SR 1,265 for round trip.
All taxes, except airport tax, are included in the new reduced fares, said Wasif.
